Other places where you can find information on Teen Bullying Prevention

Stomp Out Bullying

http://www.stompoutbullying.org/

This website is geared towards kids and teens according to the site.  It is focused on bullying, but not just bullying in person but in cyberbullying as well.  Their feeling on it is that we need to be tolerant, kind and respectful and to stand up for each other.  They mention that everyone is different but we are all the same because we are all people!

When visiting this site, you can find different ways people can be bullied.  On their page, there are ways you could help and ways for victims to get help as well.  You can also find their mission statement and history about the site as well.

This was created by, and for teens.  It is geared for middle and high school students.  Information you can find here include bullying defined, and also what I like here is that you can find words of encouragement from other teens posted onto the site.

Mean Stinks

http://meanstinks.com

This website is focused towards bullying and cyberbullying dealing with females.  Here you can go to help end girl-to-girl bullying.  They have tips, tools, and challenges to help stop bullying.  They describe how girl-to-girl bullying is a little bit different.  What’s also nice here is that they have tips for educators to use to help stop bullying.

Stop Bullying

http://www.stopbullying.gov

This website is another site where you can go to educate yourself on teen bullying.  Just like a lot of the other sites, this one is geared towards all children.    Here they go through what bullying is, the different ways people may be victims of bullying, those who may be at a higher risk to be bullied and to even bully others, there’s also warning signs and effects of bullying as well.  There are also pages on the site where you can go to find ways to talk about bullying and find out other prevention methods that you can be educated on.

Stand for the Silent

http://standforthesilent.org/index.html

This website is a site that gives presentations about bullying.  The age group geared for this site are mostly teenagers however, they do have a young lady’s story who was 27 years old.  This group was started in 2010 by a group of students at the Oklahoma State University after hearing about the story of an 11 year old boy who ended his life due to bullying.  This site stands to educate people.  You can find information to start a chapter for this organization to help spread the word.  What I like on their site is that they have short little stories of those who’ve been victimized and ended their lives due to bullying.  They have them on the site to honor those individuals.

Hey U.G.L.Y.

http://www.heyugly.org/

This organization was started in 2002 and became a nonprofit in 2004.  They focus on empowering the youth to strive to be who they are instead of trying to be who they think they need to be in order to fit in.  You can find on here some celebrities who were bullied, and can also find information on some self-esteem tips and find quotes from celebrities as well.  You will also find their three tier bullying prevention program that they guide people through.

No Bully

http://www.nobully.org/system

This website is geared to help children in the school.  The No Bully System is a step by step process and a set of interventions aimed at stopping bullying in the school.  It guides those staffed in the school through a series of intervention techniques for responding to bullying and harassment.  On the site you can find different training programs that they have as well

Just Say Yes

https://www.justsayyes.org/

This organization is set in place to help equip teens to be successful by educating them through youth speaker and classroom curriculum.  Their focus is to get teens to say yes to their dreams and goals and to say no to destructive choices.  I picked to add this site because they do have a bullying prevention page.  With their prevention programs they aim to inform and empower students to stand up against bullying, and to discourage bullies.  They also have a lot of bulling statistics on the site and the different types of bullying people may encounter.

BullyBust

http://www.bullybust.org/

This website was created to help students and adults to become people who stand up against bullying.  On different pages throughout the site it tells you the types of bullying there are, what an “upstander” is, and it even tells you why students bully.  They also provide a list of resources on where you can find out more about bullying.

The Boomerang Project

http://www.boomerangproject.com/anti-bullying-programs

This program is a student transition program that helps students adapt to their new surrounding and to increase their student success and achievement.  There are programs for middle school and high school.  A product of their efforts is providing a climate that doesn’t tolerate bullying.  It informs its readers  why anti-bullying programs are important and gives bullying prevention tips as well.
